Man Sentenced In Steer-Tampering Case
A man was sentenced to 1-1/2 years in jail and fined $2,500 Wednesday for tampering with a steer to improve its ranking in last year’s Ohio State Fair junior livestock show.
The sentencing of Blake Neeley was the second in an investigation of tampering with seven of the top 10 steers and the grand champion lamb at last year’s fair.
Neeley, 32, had pleaded guilty to complicity to cheating and sale of an unapproved drug called clenbuterol.
Neeley told the judge he sold the drug to the father of a boy who entered a steer.
