Liberty Board Vets Finalists For Superintendent
The Liberty School Board has narrowed its search for a new superintendent to five finalists.
School board members plan to conclude interviews with the five finalists before April 3 and hope to name a replacement for retiring Superintendent Armin Vogt on April 10, said Sharon Colby, school board chairwoman.
Vogt, 57, spent 34 years with the south Spokane County school district, the last 10 years as superintendent. He plans to retire on June 30.
There were 39 applicants for the position.
Finalists for the job are:
Rick Anthony, 48, superintendent in Pomeroy, Wash., since 1986.
Rob Clark, 36, superintendent in Washtucna, Wash., from 1990 through 1993 and presently enrolled in a postgraduate program at Vanderbilt University.
Mitch Denning, 54, superintendent in Harrington, Wash., since 1989.
Gil Johnson, 52, superintendent in Long Beach, Wash., since 1988.
Donn Livoni, 49, assistant superintendent in Tonasket, Wash., since 1993.
