O.J. Defense Team Has Surprise Witness

Compiled From Wire Services

A surprise witness in the O.J. Simpson trial is expected to testify that she heard Detective Mark Fuhrman make racial slurs and introduced him to a woman he claims he never met, Newsweek reported.

Defense sources told the magazine that the witness will bolster claims by expected defense witness Kathleen Bell that she once heard Fuhrman criticize interracial couples and say he’d like to see blacks burned.

Fuhrman, who claims he discovered a bloody glove at Simpson’s estate, testified last week that he had never met Bell, a real estate agent.

However, defense sources say the woman introduced Fuhrman to Bell at an Orange County restaurant.
