The Houston Oilers signed Dallas Cowboys freeagent center Mark Stepnoski to a four-year, $9.2 million deal that includes $5.5 million in guaranteed money.

The Washington Redskins signed free-agent safety Stanley Richard from the San Diego Chargers and got tight end Derrick Walker of the Kansas City Chiefs to sign an offer sheet.

The Arizona Cardinals signed 15-year pro and former Seattle Seahawk Dave Krieg to a two-year deal said to be worth $3.6 million, bringing the seventhrated quarterback in NFL history to the team which ranked 27th in offense last season.

Kelvin Pritchett, a defensive lineman who spent the last four seasons with Detroit, was signed by Jacksonville as an unrestricted free agent.
