Flooding Sidelines San Jose
Friday night’s game between the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks was postponed because of heavy rains and flooding conditions near the San Jose Arena, the NHL announced. The NHL said the rains and flooding of the Guadalupe River in an area adjacent to the arena forced postponement “in the interests of safety.”
“The game was postponed after consultation between the City of San Jose, the Sharks and the NHL,” the league said in a statement.
The league said it would announce the new date for the game as soon as possible.
