Movie Video Includes Game
Disney Home Video recently released its new children’s-television sensation, “Gargoyles,” in a fulllength video, “Gargoyles, The Movie: The Heroes Awaken.” This first-ofits-kind cassette includes an interactive game.
Drawn from the television show, which originally aired in five parts over five days, the video features medieval stone creatures that come to life at night to fight in modern New York City. A fast-paced board game, with a video narrator, follows the movie, which lists for $19.99.
Also new on shelves are “A Troll in Central Park”; a 10-song “Mr. Bumpy’s Karaoke Cafe” from ABC’s “Bump in the Night”; three new “Peanuts” titles; Shelley Duvall’s seven-set “Bedtime Stories”; four “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” volumes; and a couple of cassettes about “Puff the Magic Dragon.”
The voices for the 76-minute animated “A Troll in Central Park” include Dom DeLuise, Cloris Leachman, Hayley Mills and Charles Nelson Reilly. The Warner Home Video lists for $19.99.
“Mr. Bumpy” includes most of his songs from the Saturday morning television show (30 minutes, $12.95).
Paramount’s “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown” (25 mins.) comes with a Snoopy and Woodstock “Best Friends” kids’ pop-up watch for $15.95. The other two are made up of a pair of shows each (49 mins., $12.95). One is “You’re in Love, Charlie Brown” and “It’s Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown.” The other is “There’s No Time for Love, Charlie Brown” and “Someday You’ll Find Her, Charlie Brown.”
The Duvall set at $39.98 is made up of “Elbert’s Bad Boy” (narrated by Ringo Starr), “Weird Parents” (Bette Midler), “Patrick’s Dinosaurs” (Martin Short), “What Happened to Patrick’s Dinosaurs?” (Short), “There’s a Nightmare in My Closet” (Michael J. Fox), “There’s an Alligator Under My Bed” (Christian Slater) and “There’s Something in My Attic” (Sissy Spacek).
