Lowry Names Two To State Logging Board

Associated Press

A Clark County commissioner and an environmental lobbyist have been appointed to the state board that regulates the logging industry.

Gov. Mike Lowry appointed Commissioner John C. Magnano and Judith Turpin to the 11-member state Forest Practices Board, his office announced Monday.

Magnano runs a family food business in Seattle, the Napoleon Co., and worked as a social services administrator for 15 years.

Turpin, a lobbyist with TMT Associates, has worked on the Timber, Fish and Wildlife Project of the Washington Environmental Council and has represented environmental concerns before the Forest Practices Board for the past decade.
