Holes Shot Into Windows Of Vehicles

A vandalism spree left several Hayden residents with damaged vehicle windows Sunday.

Kootenai County sheriff’s officials say eight Hayden residents reported finding holes shot in their car and truck windows.

“The windows appear to have been shot out by a BB or pellet gun,” said Lt. Ben Wolfinger.

He said the damage was done late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

It is the second time in a week such vandalism has been reported to authorities.

Thirteen people living in the vicinity of the Coeur d’Alene public golf course reported finding their vehicle windows shot out, said Coeur d’Alene Police Capt. Carl Bergh.

The vandalism appeared to have happened late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

Bergh said it is possible the two incidents are related.

Officials ask that anyone with information about the crimes call either the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department at 664-1511 or the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at 769-2320.
