Ex-Idaho Leader Hired At WSU

Les Purce, a former director of Idaho’s state departments of Administration and Health and Welfare, has been named vice president for extended university services at Washington State University.

Purce, who was a counseling psychology graduate student at Washington State, is the first person to hold the newly expanded post at the Pullman school. He will start in mid-August at a salary of $120,000 a year.

Purce’s duties at Washington State will include public relations, fund-raising, public television, the interactive television teaching network, alumni relations and cooperative extension.
