New A.D. At Montana St.

Charles Lindemenn, athletic director at Humboldt State in California, has been named athletic director at Montana State University.

Lindemenn, director of athletics at Humboldt State for the past 10 years, will take over the MSU post on Aug. 15. He will replace Doug Fullerton, who resigned after 10 years to become commissioner of the Big Sky Conference.

Kathy Noble, associate athletic director at the University of Montana, will leave that post to become the Big Sky Conference’s assistant commissioner for compliance services. The appointment is effective Oct. 1.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Central Washington University in 1971 and a master’s degree in counseling at Washington State in 1979. She is currently a doctoral candidate in counseling at Washington State.

Wyoming athletic director Paul Roach, 67, the only person to serve as both Wyoming’s athletic director and head football coach, will retire in October.
