Developers File Suit Against Bpa

From Staff And Wire Reports

Developers of a natural-gas fueled power plant filed a $1 billion lawsuit against the Bonneville Power Administration, alleging the federal power marketing agency reneged on a contract to buy electricity.

The Tenaska Washington Partners, which started building the 248-megawatt plant last July, filed the lawsuit Friday in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in Tacoma.

“We have continued to be astounded by BPA’s attitude throughout our discussions,” said Howard Hawks, chairman of the Tenaska project partnership.

“We have been wronged by BPA, and they are not dealing with us fairly,” he said in a prepared statement.
