Juried Lilac Exhibition Winners Recently Named

The Corbin Art Center has announced the winners of the 1995 Juried Lilac Exhibition.

Winners are: Delbert Gish, best of show, watermedia; Edie Dunlap, second place, watercolor; and Emma Randolph, third place, watercolor. Works by Betty Billups, Rachel Pettit, Dan Sanford, Carolyn Trueblood and Gay Waldman received honorable mentions.

Janice Langbehn, daughter of Wallace Langbehn, Spokane, was awarded a master’s degree in public administration from Evergreen State College in Olympia. She is a 1986 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School.

The following Inland Northwest residents and civic groups were recognized for their contributions to public education by the Northeast Washington Association of School Administrators.

The award recipients are: Ric Odegard, Spokane; Earl Davenport and Dee McMillan, Colville, Wash., Charles “Chuck Stocker, Spokane; Saundra Carter, Springdale, Wash.; Gary and Dolores Crisp, Addy, Wash.; Kay Crist, Mica; Robert Dompier, Spokane; Dollars for Scholars, Chewelah, Wash.; Roy Dube, Rosalia, Wash.; Lon Hatfield, Colville, Wash.; LaCrosse Community Education Association, LaCrosse, Wash.; and WashtucnaBenge Lions Club, Washtucna/ Benge, Wash.

The Spokane Branch of the American Association of University Women has announced the scholarship winners for 1994-95: Patricia Taylor, who will attend Eastern Washington University in the fall to study Spanish; Sally Braithewaite-Marshall, who is studying psychology at Whitworth College; and Barbara Casort, an EWU student working toward a degree in dental hygiene.

Brandy Tyson-Flyn is a recipient of the P.P.I. Association’s $1,500 annual scholarship for two years. The daughter of Ray and Beverly Tyson-Flyn, Post Falls, she will attend Washington State University.

Wanda Peters, contracts managers for the Area Agency on Aging, has been named the 1995 Outstanding Staff Person of the Aging Network. She has been with the agency since 1985, and at her present position for the past three years.

The Idaho Chapter of the American Lung Association was the beneficiary of nearly $1,000 generated from the second annual basketball game featuring Team KMC (Kootenai Medical Center) vs. The Mighty Docs. KMC won 66-58.

Robert Bacon, Aaron Anderson and Josh Studor, students at Lake City High School in Coeur d’Alene, competed last month with Idaho’s best high school musicians during the Idaho Music Educator’s Association State Solo Contest in Caldwell.

The three earned the right to compete by winning high ratings in the tenor vocal category during the District I Solo Festival last March in Moscow.
