Qb Classic Tickets Still Available

Gallery tickets remain for the Bank of America Quarterback Classic Friday at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

The $50 ticket covers a continental breakfast, a boat ride from the Coeur d’Alene Resort and admission to the event, which starts at 9 a.m. and features 36 past and present National Football League quarterbacks.

The field includes Mark Rypien, Drew Bledsoe, George Blanda, John Elway, John Friesz, Stan Humphries, Sonny Jurgenson, Dave Krieg, Daryl Lamonica, Earl Morrall, Jim Plunkett, Jim Zorn, Jack Thompson, Timm Rosenbach and others.

Warren Moon recently withdrew from the tourney. Former Idaho Vandal Doug Nussmeier, of the New Orleans Saints, is a late addition.

Action continues Saturday with a scramble tournament, but the public is not admitted.

Tee times are available for the Washington State Football Coaches’ Hall of Fame Golf Tournament June 27 at Indian Canyon.

Golfers will be placed in flights according to USGA handicaps. The shotgun start begins at 1 p.m. Further information may be obtained by calling 747-5353. Proceeds benefit area high school athletics.

The 36th Annual Colville Amateur tournament is set for July 1 and 2, with golfers contending for titles in various gross and net, men’s and women’s divisions.

Entry fee is $50, plus $20 in green fees. Info: 684-5508.

Liberty Lake is the site for the Fourth Annual Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels Senior Amateur Tournament, July 27-28.

This year, the minimum age has been dropped from 60 to 50, and play is also open to women for the first time. Play the first day is a twoperson, best-ball format, while the second day is a two-person scramble.

All proceeds benefit the Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels program.
