Arizona May Look West

Compiled From Wire Services

Arizona Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill isn’t commenting on the possibility that his NFL team would move to Los Angeles if the Raiders return to Oakland.

“The door is not shut on a move,” Cardinals general counsel Thomas Guilfoil told the Tribune Newspapers in a published story.

Bidwill declined comment on the speculation. But in past months, he has said he’s committed to keeping his team in Arizona. However, is said to be unhappy that local officials haven’t followed through on what he believes was a commitment to eventually build a new stadium, preferably a domed one.

The Seattle Seahawks signed thirdyear wide receiver Michael Bates, the team announced.

Wide receiver Anthony Carter, an unrestricted free agent, has re-signed to play with the Detroit Lions.

The Washington Redskins signed linebacker Terry Crews and wide receiver Rod Moore from the World League.

The New York Jets signed Richie Anderson, their halfback-fullback, to a three-year contract.
