Robert Wilson

Colville, Wash.

Memorial service for Robert O. Wilson, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville.

Mr. Wilson, a former Valley, Wash., resident, died Saturday.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Wilson worked as a welder in heavy construction and worked on Grand Coulee Dam, the North Cascades Highway and the Alaska Pipeline.

He was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 302.

Mr. Wilson retired 20 years ago to Valley, Wash. He had lived in Colville for the past five years.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marjorie Wilson; three half-sisters, Marion Burtfield of Lafayette, Calif., Lee Ennes of Vacaville, Calif., and Sadie Kowalski of Sonora, Calif.; and two half-brothers, Del Wilson of Portland and Jim Wilson of Carson City, Nev.

Verla Tipke

Spokane

Memorial service for Verla A. Tipke, 74, was Saturday at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tipke, who was born in Newman Lake, died Monday.

She cooked at the Highland House and The Bend restaurants for more than 16 years and assisted her husband in his businesses, Distilled Water Co. and the Spokane County Fairgrounds Speedway.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Tipke; four daughters, LaRae Fant, Shirley Hoon, Judith Collins and Joanne Comer, and one son, James Tipke, all of Spokane; one brother, Harold “Dick” Maxfield of Seattle; 15 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and one great-greatgranddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.

Jackie Robertson

Spokane

Memorial gathering for Jackie K. Robertson, 65, will be Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at 10505 N. Fairview Road. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Robertson, who was born in Chippewa Falls, Wis., died Thursday

She was a registered nurse and had lived in Spokane for more than 27 years.

Mrs. Robertson was active in the Women’s Auxiliary to the International Metallurgic and Mining Engineers, Spokane Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Center, and Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Robertson; two sons, Dan Robertson of Carlsbad, N.M., and John Robertson of Billings, Mont.; two daughters, Ann Wygant of Renton, Wash., and Kim Hoover of Spokane; one brother, Tom Knoble of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; and five grandchildren.

Terredo ‘Ted’ Barbanti

Spokane

Vigil service for Terredo “Ted” Barbanti, 78, is planned for 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Barbanti died Saturday.

Born in Italy, he had lived in Spokane for 40 years and worked at Wonder Bread Co. for 30 years. He was a member of the Wonder Bread No. 1 Club.

Mr. Barbanti was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had been a volunteer with the St. Vincent De Paul Society.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Tullia Barbanti; one son, Marco Barbanti, and one daughter, Paola Barbanti, both of Spokane.

Lillian Roe

Spokane

At her request, no service will be held for Lillian L. Roe, 77. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Mrs. Roe, who died Saturday, was born in Arapahoe, Neb.

She lived in Spokane for 26 years and was a seamstress.

She is survived by one daughter, Rose Thurman, and one son, Ronald Nowlin, both of Spokane; one brother, J.W. Johnson of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

Willard Scoville

Lewiston

Memorial service for Willard Milo Scoville, 81, was Monday at Malcom’s Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Scoville, who died Friday, was born in Spokane.

He lived in Palouse, Wash., with his family and graduated from high school there.

In 1941 he and his wife, Vivian, moved to Potlatch, Idaho, where he farmed until he retired in 1977. They then moved to Lewiston.

He was a member of the Moscow Elks Lodge 249 and the Lewiston Golf and Country Club.

He had served on the rural school board in Potlatch, the Freeze Cemetery District board, the Potlatch Highway District board and the Pea and Lentil Commission.

Survivors include his wife of Lewiston; one son, Doug Scoville of Potlatch; one brother, Clifford Scoville of Othello, Wash.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bob Farris

Spokane

Service for Bob Farris, 62, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Danekas Funeral Chapel. Private burial will follow. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in St. John, Wash., Mr. Farris died Saturday.

He worked in home construction in Spokane for many years and formerly had lived in Colville, Wash., for 27 years. He retired from Plum Creek Lumber when he was 55.

Mr. Farris was a Korean War naval veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Farris of Colville; one daughter, Cindy Sexton of Spokane; two brothers, David Farris of Colville and Boyd Farris of Spokane; four sisters, Donna Gilmore and Shirley Williams, both of Spokane, Gloria Alverson of Portland, and Carol Enquist of Great Falls, Mont.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospice Unit.

Olga Zimmerman

Spokane

Service and burial for Olga Zimmerman, 94, will be in California. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Zimmerman, who was born in Milwaukee, died Saturday.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Ron Zimmerman of Spokane and Arnold Zimmerman of Las Vegas, Nev.; and four grandchildren.

Ruth McGetrick

Spokane

Graveside service for Ruth E. McGetrick, 91, was Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. McGetrick, who died Wednesday, was born in Basin, Wyo., where she also graduated from high school.

She lived in Spokane for 51 years and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Harry McGetrick, died in 1955.

She is survived by one son, Mack McGetrick of Kennewick; five daughters, Milli McGetrick, at home, and Margaret Hoy, Pat Wilson, Mikey Pierson and Myra Bolton, all of Spokane; one sister, Mary Hubbell of Basin; three brothers, Robert Cummings of Great Falls, Mont., Guy Cummings of Powell, Wyo., and James Cummings of Greybull, Wyo.; 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Rachel Beal Carver

Private memorial service for Rachel Beal Carver, 9, is planned for 3 p.m. today at North Central High School. Public memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today in the Shadle Park High School auditorium. Burial will be at a later date. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rachel died Wednesday from a blow to the head.

She was born April 7, 1986, in Spokane.

She had lived in Spokane for the past four years and attended Ridgeview Elementary as a third-grader.

She was a Girl Scout and played Little League Baseball.

Survivors include her mother, Lori Beal of Spokane; her father, Scott Carver of Yakima; one sister, Danielle Carver of Spokane; and her grandparents, Wayne and Marianne Beal of Spokane, and Bobbi of Deer Park.

Lucile Bingham

Spokane

Graveside service for Helen Lucile Bingham, 91, was Monday at Valleyview Memorial Park in Soap Lake, Wash.

Mrs. Bingham, born in Browning, Mo., died Friday.

A homemaker, she had lived in Spokane for 13 years. She previously had lived in Ephrata for 50 years.

Mrs. Bingham was a member of the Baptist Church.

Her huband, Kyle Bingham, died in 1972.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois Cole of Spokane; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Hazel Boone

Palouse, Wash.

Services, for Hazel L. Boone, 74, is set for 2 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse. Graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse.

Mrs. Boone, who was born in Ridgeway, Pa., died Friday at home.

She graduated from school in Pittsburgh in 1942. A year later she moved to Spokane, where she worked for a dentist.

She and her husband, Arch “Bunny” Boone, farmed near Palouse. She was the bookkeeper for their farm.

Her husband died in March.

Mrs. Boone was a member of the Will-Do Club.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Boone of Chewelah, Wash., and Timothy Boone of Palouse; four brothers, Fred Streich of Williamsport, Pa., John Streich of Otis Orchards, and Paul Streich and Woodrow Streich, both of Ridgeway, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

Maxine Murphy

Spokane

Service for Maxine Murphy, 75, is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Murphy died Friday.

She was born in Wetumka, Okla.

A longtime member of the Ladies’ Oriental Shrine Club, Mrs. Murphy had lived in Spokane for 25 years.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Elaine Bohn of Portland and Barbara Murphy of San Antonio, Texas; and one sister, Juanita Benge of Lawton, Okla.
