Transients Arrested With Small Arsenal

From Staff And Wire Reports

Three transients armed with an assault rifle, a shotgun and two pipe bombs were arrested Sunday in east Spokane, police said.

Officers found Terrence Lee Morris, 23, his brother, Mark Joseph Morris, 20, and Darryl Lee Glosson, 30, camping on a railroad right of way on Sunday morning.

They had two pipe bombs, a Russian-made assault rifle with a homemade silencer, a shotgun and 2,000 rounds of ammunition, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.

The men appeared to be drifters without any obvious political agenda, Cottam said. They were traveling in an old van loaded with camping gear.

The Morrises said they were from Arizona and Glosson said he was from Florida.

The men were booked into the county jail for investigation of possession of explosive devices.
