Glove Protest

Associated Press

Protesters chanting “shame, shame,” festooned the iron fence of the White House with at least 75 rubber gloves Sunday afternoon.

The action came five days after several uniformed White House police officers greeted a delegation of about 40 gay and lesbian elected officials wearing rubber gloves. They claimed they were for their “protection.”

The police officers apparently feared that some of the delegates might have AIDS.
