U.S. Hasn’t Sought Vesco’s Extradition
The United States has not sought extradition of fugitive financier Robert Vesco, nor has Cuba offered to extradite him, a Cuban government spokesman said Thursday.
But there have been “contacts through diplomatic channels” between the two governments over the case, and Cuba would consider an extradition request if it were made, said foreign ministry spokesman Rafael Dausa.
Dausa’s comments may indicate that Cuba wants more formal dealings on the case with the United States.
