‘Possible Overdose’ Hits Courtney Love
Singer Courtney Love was hospitalized overnight for a possible drug overdose, a local television station reported Sunday.
She was taken to Harborview Medical Center about 12:30 a.m. Sunday and discharged at 2 p.m. in satisfactory condition, a nursing supervisor confirmed.
Medics were called to her home in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood for what they were told was a “possible overdose,” according to KIRO-TV.
Telephone calls to Love’s publicist were not immediately returned.
Love’s husband, Kurt Cobain, lead singer of the popular grunge band Nirvana, killed himself with a shotgun in April 1994 in the same house.
Seattle police say they were told Love had taken some prescription medication before she boarded a flight from New York Saturday night, and passed out when she got home, KIRO reported.
Kristen Pfaff, bass player for Love’s band, Hole, died of a drug overdose two months after Cobain’s suicide.
