Idaho Sponsoring Free Fishing Day

From Staff And Wire Reports

To help get people hooked on fishing, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game is sponsoring a free fishing day Saturday.

No license will be required to fish public waters that day and clinics will be offered throughout the Panhandle to teach newcomers the sport.

The clinics will provide instruction on fishing techniques, fish identification and outdoor ethics. Fish and Game officials said additional rainbow trout have been stocked at the clinic locations to enhance the fishing.

Fishing instruction, bait and a limited amount of fishing equipment will be provided at the following locations:

Ponderosa Springs Golf Course in Coeur d’Alene (8-11 a.m.).

Mullan Fish Hatchery (9 a.m. to noon).

Round Lake State Park near Sandpoint (9 a.m. to noon).

The Lions Club Pond in Bonners Ferry (9 a.m. to noon).

Anderson Ranch in St. Maries off state Highway 3 (9 a.m. to noon).
