Racial Comment May Have Started Fight

From Staff Reports

The boy who was the center of a school walkout this spring was accused of punching another boy in the nose Monday.

Police have forwarded battery charges to the Post Falls prosecuting attorney against 14-year-old Faheem Anderson. He allegedly drew blood when fighting with another boy in the hallways of Post Falls Junior High.

Police say the fight may have been prompted by a racial comment.

A racist comment by a student in March prompted dozens of students to walk out of Post Falls Junior High on behalf of Faheem, who is black.

Junior high principal Don Boyk confirmed a fight occurred between two boys Monday, but said another administrator handled it.
