Body Found By River Still Unidentified

From Staff And Wire Reports

The body of a middle-aged man that washed up on the banks of the Spokane River this week remains unidentified.

An autopsy conducted early Friday showed only that the man drowned. The body was badly decomposed, making it impossible to take fingerprints, said Spokane County Coroner Dexter Amend.

The next step is to try to identify the man through dental records, he said.

Officials believe he may be the same man who leaped off the Monroe Street Bridge on Feb. 1.

The body washed up near the T.J. Meenach Bridge and was spotted shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday. , DataTimes
