Odomes Hurts His Right Knee

Associated Press

Nate Odomes, a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback who missed last season because of a knee injury, re-injured his right knee in a practice Sunday with the Seattle Seahawks.

It was not immediately known how serious Odomes’ latest injury was, the Seahawks said.

Odomes, who was being counted on to be Seattle’s starting right cornerback, will undergo exploratory arthroscopic surgery today or Tuesday to determine the extent of the latest damage, coach Dennis Erickson said Sunday night.

Odomes’ right knee began swelling after he hyperextended it while taking part in his second practice Sunday morning at the Seahawks’ training camp.

Odomes, 29, signed a four-year, $8.4 million contract with the Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent Feb. 24, 1994, after playing seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
