Etta Mae Clark Spokane

Service for Etta Mae Clark, 99, is set for 1 p.m. today at Greenacres Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clark, who died Wednesday, was born in Dassel, Minn.

She moved to Spokane from Canada 73 years ago.

During World War II she worked at Galena Air Base as a machinist.

She was a member of Greenacres Baptist Church.

Her husband, William, died in 1969.

Survivors include one son, Glen Clark of Spokane; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Todd Shirahama Spokane

Memorial service for Todd Shirahama, 72, was Saturday at Highland Park United Methodist Church Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shirahama, a 55 year Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

He was born in Portland.

He had been an auto mechanic in Spokane for many years and served in the Army during World War II.

His wife, Dorothy, preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Geri Nurre of Salem, Ore., and Gloria Shirahama of Spokane; three sisters; one brother, and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Unit at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Charles Logan Tacoma

Memorial service for Charles Edward John Logan, 85, is planned for 10 a.m. today at Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, in Olympia. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Olympic Memorial Gardens in Tumwater, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

A former Spokane resident, Mr. Logan died Wednesday.

He was born in Wallace, Idaho.

He worked for Continental Bakeries in Spokane from the 1940’s until 1967. He later lived in Tumwater and Tacoma and worked for Washington State Food and Drug Administration from 1967 until he retired in 1983.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Edna Logan of Tacoma; three daughters, Joanne Fellis of Spokane, LaVon Logan of Tacoma, and Jeralyn Logan of Washington state; one sister, Maxine Hotchkiss of California; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Deaconess Medical Center.

Clifford Camp Spangle, Wash.

Graveside service for Clifford Camp, 92 is set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Spangle Cemetery. Cheney Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Camp, a longtime Spangle resident, died Thursday at Cheney Care Center.

Mr. Camp was born in New Hartford, Ill., and moved to Washtucna when he was young.

He and his wife farmed in Spangle for 70 years.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Bessie Camp; two sons, Lester Camp of Oakesdale, Wash., and Richard Camp of Spangle; three sisters, Mayme Jordan of Nampa, Idaho, Bernice Fike of Ridgefield, Wash., and Eloise Peterson of Lewiston; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Irene Dick Spokane

Graveside service for Irene A. Dick, 92, will be held at 1:30 p.m. July 31 at Wenatchee City Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dick, who was born in Leesburg, Ohio, died July 14 at home.

In 1909, Mrs. Dick moved to the Wenatchee Valley with her parents. She graduated from high school in Entiat, Wash., and from Cheney Normal School.

She taught elementary school for several years and then moved to Spokane with her husband, L.B. Dick in 1935.

She and her husband established the Shanghai-American Club during World War II to promote friendship between the Chinese and American communities in Spokane.

She was a charter member of the Entiat Women’s Club, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Nile El Karnak Temple, the White Rose Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine Eiram Court No.#62, and The Colonial Dames. She was also involved with committees at Rockwood Manor where she had lived since 1983.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lafayette Dick.

Irma Lochridge Spokane

Memorial service for Irma (Kress) Lochridge, 85, is set for 11 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Born in Tekoa, Wash., Mrs. Lochridge died Wednesday.

She graduated from Deer Park High School in 1928 and had lived in Spokane for more than 38 years.

She was a homemaker and was one of the first women in the Spokane area to fly bi-planes from Felts Field.

Her husband, Gordon Lochridge, died in 1979.

She is survived by her son, William Lochridge of Spokane; two daughters, Claudia Lorberau of Tacoma, Wash., and Blachella Casey of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Dan Masters Glendale, Ariz.

Service for former Spokane resident Dan Masters, was held Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial was at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Masters, 51, died July 15 in Glendale, where he had lived since 1990.

He was born Spokane.

He was a truck driver for Garret/A&R Motor Freight for many years.

He had served in the Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Masters; one son, Erik Masters; one daughter, Margie Masters, both of Glendale; two grandchildren; one brother, Glen Masters of Spokane; two sisters, Ellen Lightbody of Spokane, and Mary Laverdure of Peoria, Ariz.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

John Taylor Oldtown, Idaho

Memorial service for John H. Taylor, 89, is planned for 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Newport. Burial will precede at 10 a.m. at Newport (Wash.) Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Taylor died Wednesday at home.

He was born in Lake Preston, S.D.

His mother died when he was three and he lived in an orphanage until he was nine, when he went to live with his aunt and uncle.

In 1922, he moved to Pend Oreille County and worked in the mills and mines. He worked for 35 years at the Dalkena Mill and retired in 1971.

He was active in the woodworkers union after his retirement and was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Hazel; three daughters, Mary Balderson and Arleen Davenport, both of Spokane, and Goldie Adams of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church or to Newport Cemetery Improvement Fund.
