Keeble’s Double-Double Lifts Sfcu To 10-8 Win

Carson Keeble had two sixth-inning doubles, the second of which scored three runs, as Spokane Federal Credit Union scored seven runs in the inning to rally for a 10-8 victory over Kimmel Athletic in American Legion baseball Friday night at Al K. Jackson Field.

Keeble led off the inning with a double before Kimmel recorded two straight outs. Brain Miller followed with a two-run double to spark SFCU.

At Gonzaga University, M&L Construction defeated Olympic 13-4 for its 14th win in 16 games this season.

Marcus Muzatko went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and four runs scored, while teammate Ray Hattenburg went 3 for 3 with two RBIs as M&L racked up 16 hits. Sam Chimienti added three hits in four at-bats, scoring twice.

Jeff Rinck improved to 5-0 for the season, pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts to help offset seven walks and two hit batters. Rinck gave up nine hits.

At Shadle Park, Eric Hayden tossed a one-hitter and Brett Corigliano went 3 for 3 with three RBIs ans Chapter 11/Longhorn BBQ defeated Scott’s Custom Homes 8-0.

In semipro ball at Whitworth, the Blackhawks defeated the Red Sox 12-4 in a battle of Spokane teams, with Brian Guastella going 3 for 5 for the winners.

Golf

David Lebeck of Beaverton, Ore., scored a pair of wins at the 6,806-yard Oregon Golf Club in West Linn to move into today’s final of the 36-hole final of the 94th Pacific Northwest Amateur.

He will face the same player that he met in the Oregon Amateur final, Birk Nelson of Pendleton.

Nelson was four down with seven holes to play before rallying to defeat Chris Riley of San Diego.

Earlier Friday, Lebeck beat Michael Charles of Portland 2 and 1. Nelson eliminated Bob Christensen of Hayden Lake, Idaho, 2 and 1 in the quarterfinals.

Troy Kelly of Bremerton shot 1-under 70 to hold off Kyle Kelly of Spokane by one stroke, 143-144, as the Pacific Northwest Section PGA Maxfli Junior Championships concluded in Sandpoint.

Troy Kelly, along with girls winner Kelli Kamimura of Burlington, Wash., advance to the Maxfli PGA Nationals next month in Florida.

Figure skating

The Jo Williams Memorial competition is today from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Eagles Ice-A-Rena.
