Mabel Standifur Coeur d’Alene

Graveside memorial service for Mabel A. Standifur, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Cemetery, Coeur d’Alene.Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Standifur, who was born in Minnesota, died Friday at Kootenai Medical Center, Coeur d’Alene.

She lived in Stevensville, Mont., and later married Andrew Standifur in Missoula in 1935.

They made their home in Philipsburg, Mont., and moved to Missoula two years later, where she was a waitress for several years.

After World War II they moved to Pullman, Wash., where they owned Standifur Refrigeration for 20 years. After retiring, they moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1975.

She enjoyed dancing, gardening and fishing.

Survivors include her husband, of Coeur d’Alene; daughters, Cherry Williams of Spokane, and Lorene Schibel of Odessa, Wash.; sisters, Celestine Rathbun and Rose Higgins of Stevensville, and Agnus Johnson of Missoula; three grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

Chester Coziah Wallace

No service will be held for Chester Dale Coziah, 70, who died Thursday at the family home in Wallace. Cremation was held and Shoshone Funeral Service and Crematory, Wallace, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Coziah was a veteran of World War II and moved to the area in 1987.

He was a truck driver for 25 years and was the former owner of Fonk’s Variety Store in Wallace.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union and previously was an emergency medical technician and firefighter with the Rathdrum Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Coziah’s wife, Louise, died in 1986. His survivors include one son, Loyd Coziah of Buena Park, Calif.; three daughters, Alita McIrvin of Walnut Park, Calif., Sandra Newton of San Bernardino, Calif., and Debbie Garrett of Windsor, Calif.; brother, Merle Coziah of Auburn, Calif.; sisters, Carmen Nowack of Auburn, Roberta Witchell of Sacramento, Calif., Audrey Mathers of Springville, Calif., and Leota Schimank of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Albert Aiken Spokane

Memorial service for Albert A. “Al” Aiken, 74, is planned for 1 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Mr. Aiken, who died Wednesday, was born in Butte, Mont.

He graduated from North Central High School and had lived in Spokane for more than 63 years.

He worked as a purchasing agent for a local electrical supply company.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Toastmasters, North Hill Masonic Lodge No. 210, the Scottish Rite Bodies and the El Katif Shrine.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Thula; three sons, Jeffrey Aiken of Tacoma, and Chris and Steve Aiken, both of Spokane; one sister, Meryle Tess of Spokane; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children or Immanuel Baptist Church.

Helen Martin Spokane

Memorial service for Helen R. Martin, 91, will be held at a later date. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Martin, who died Thursday, was born in Scotland.

She had lived in Spokane since 1926 and retired from the J.C. Penney alteration department.

She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.

Mrs. Martin is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Devlin of Spokane; two grandsons and two greatgrandchildren.

Marion Conway Spokane

Service for Marion J. Conway, 80, is planned for 3 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Roseburg, Ore.

Mrs. Conway, who died Wednesday, was born in Whitefish, Mont.

She had lived in Spokane for 55 years and once owned the hat and coat check room at the Ridpath Roof.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph Conway; a sister, Violet Miller of Felton, Calif.; a daughter, Dorothy Wilhelm of Tacoma; a son, Mike Conway of Kansas City, Kan.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rosalie Moore Bandon, Ore.

Service for Rosalie “Rosie” M. Moore, 57, was Saturday at Amling-Schroeder Funeral Chapel in Bandon. Graveside service will follow at Denmark Cemetery in Langlois, Ore.

Mrs. Moore, a former Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

She was born in Port Townsend, Wash., and moved to Spokane with her husband, Dale Moore, in 1965.

She worked at East Bowl as a program director and league coordinator for many years.

They moved to Bandon in 1988.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband; two sons, Dale Moore Jr. of Post Falls and Raymond Moore of Wichita Falls, Texas; two daughters, Dalyne Moore of Sacramento, Calif., and Cynthia Ehlers of Spokane; her father, C.C. “Red” Turner of Coos Bay, Ore.; one brother, Donald Turner of Coos Bay; one sister, Charleen Houston of Coos Bay; and 14 grandchildren.

Paul Bongarts Oakesdale, Wash.

Memorial service for Paul P. Bongarts, 78, will be at 11 a.m. today at Community Presbyterian Church in Oakesdale. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bongarts died Thursday at Tekoa (Wash.) Care Center.

He was born in Little Falls, Minn.

He moved to the Oakesdale area when he was in his 20s, following his brother, John.

He worked for Pittmann Brothers and joined the Army in 1941. He was discharged in 1945 and returned to Oakesdale.

He worked on the Leslie Lamb farm and married Roberta Lamb, the farmer’s daughter, in 1946.

They moved to Springdale, Wash., and farmed, then returned to Oakesdale in 1960 and took over the operations of the Lamb family farm.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, Oakesdale Grange, Oakesdale Grain Growers and Soil Conservation Service. He also sang in the Baptist church choir for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; three daughters, Paula Shumway of Prosser, Wash., Glenna Haskin of Medical Lake, and Dianna Ewing of Oakesdale; one brother, George Bongarts of St. Paul, Minn., and eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Presbyterian Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
