International Ufo Conference Sighted At Seatac Many At Gathering Are Convinced Of Government Cover-Up
Hundreds of UFO believers from around the nation and the world are meeting at a SeaTac hotel to share stories about unusual sightings and alien abductions.
The three-day convention began Friday and is sponsored by the Mutual UFO Network or MUFON, which collects information about unidentified flying objects.
One topic being debated is perhaps the most famous in UFO lore. In July 1947 something crashed on a ranch near Roswell, N.M. Some say it was a spacecraft and that the government recovered alien bodies the size of children.
The Air Force says it was only a weather balloon.
All the conference-goers want is the truth, said Marilyn Henry Childs, western regional director of MUFON.
“Our society is grown up enough that we should be able to get honest, straight answers from our government,” she said.
What will it take before MUFON believes the government?
“They’re either going to have to say it’s extraterrestrials, interdimensionals, or time travelers” she said.
One of the people helping run the convention is Sonnia Stewart, a hypnotherapist from Auburn, and a member of MUFON.
She believes that Earth is being visited by aliens. She says too many reliable people - including police, pilots, scientists and teachers - have seen UFOs.
“I talk to the everyday housewife, I talk to children, I talk to businessmen, I talk to people that don’t want to give their name because they’re afraid,” she said. “All these people aren’t crazy.”
Stewart believes the government has covered up information to prevent a public panic. But information is slowly leaking out, she said.
“I do believe with all my heart that there is a big government cover-up and I also believe that because of (the television shows) “Sightings,” and “Encounters” and “Unsolved Mysteries” that slowly, slowly they’re leaking it out to the public that there is something going on,” Stewart said.
As a hypnotherapist, Stewart says she helps people recall memories of “lost time.” She says different people often end up telling similar stories of being abducted by short creatures with big heads and wide eyes. She calls them “common greys” or “little whites” who inspect people aboard their ships.
