Lisa Evans Chosen As ‘Fairest Of The Fair’
Lisa Michelle Evans, the 19-yearold daughter of Mike and Carol Evans, has been named the 1995 Spokane Interstate Fair “Fairest of the Fair.” She is a sophomore at Washington State University and represented McIntosh Grange 1001.
Fair Princesses are Andrea Dawn Crumpler, 20-year-old daughter of Sylvia Crumpler of Mead, a junior at Seattle Pacific University, representing Half Moon Grange 907, and Nancy Rose Houser, the 18-year-old daughter of Nancy Ruddy, representing the East Spokane Grange.
Christina Cogswell from the Espanola Grange was selected as an alternate.
The fair royalty, selected at Spokane County’s Central Grange, will participate in area fairs, rodeos and parades as well as the Spokane Interstate Fair, Sept. 8-17.
The following local military persons have been promoted to their present ranks:
Lance Cpl. Amanda Voss, daughter of Jerry Voss, Othello, Wash., serves with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 212, Marine Aircraft Wing 11, Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, Santa Ana, Calif.
Chief Petty Officer Terry Thomas, son of Harold and Phyl Thomas, Spokane, is serving aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu, based in San Diego, Calif. He is a 1983 graduate of Ferris High School.
Sgt. David Flatter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Flatter, Chattaroy, is serving with the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Twentynine Palms, Calif. He is a 1988 graduate of Riverside High School in Elk.
Senior Airman Cynthia Zazueta, daughter of William Kleinpaste and Lois Kleinpaste, both of Deer Park, is an evaluations monitor stationed at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, Calif. She is a 1991 graduate of Deer Park High School.
Cpl. Yvonne Jones, is serving with Headquarters, Marine Aircraft Group 16, Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, Tustin, Calif. She is a 1987 graduate of Central Valley High School.
Scott Ayers, a sophomore at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va., was named to the dean’s list for the fall term. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ayers, Spokane.
