L.A. Police Chief Target Of Probe

The police commission is investigating allegations that Chief Willie Williams accepted free lodging from a casino and free tickets to amusement parks and concerts.

Williams claims he’s the victim of a smear campaign.

“The allegations are outrageous fabrications and lies. Period,” he said Thursday.

News reports have said Williams made frequent trips to Las Vegas, accepted free room and board from a casino, and asked for and got free tickets to amusement parks and concerts. If true, Williams would have either violated department policy or cast the department in a bad light.
