Motorist Sentenced

After two trials, the motorist convicted two months ago of causing the accident that nearly killed Sacramento Kings guard Bobby Hurley was fined $300 in Sacramento Superior Court.

Daniel Wieland, 38, also was placed on three years’ informal probation and his license was suspended for six months for misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and driving without a valid license.

Wieland must pay an additional $620 in fees and penalty assessments.
