Rockets’ Mad Max Awaits Nba Ruling Over Latest Incident

Associated Press

“Mad Max” is in trouble again, this time for allegedly punching a fan in the face during an NBA game.

Houston’s Vernon Maxwell, a temperamental guard with a history of off-court troubles, charged 10 rows into the stands to punch a fan during the third quarter of Monday night’s loss in Portland.

The NBA said Rod Thorn, vice president-operations, reviewed the incident but no action was taken yet. There might be an announcement today.

The 35-year-old fan, Steve George, said he will press charges.

George said Maxwell shouted an obscenity at the fans as he left the court at halftime, and again as he left the court during a timeout after drawing his fourth foul with 3:33 left in the third quarter.

Jazz sign Donaldson

The Utah Jazz signed center James Donaldson to a contract for the rest of the season.
