Santa Clara Hammers Usf, Keeps Its Distance Atop Wcc

Kevin Dunne scored 18 points and Steve Nash added 17 and 10 assists despite a bad ankle as Santa Clara defeated San Francisco 80-63 in a West Coast Conference game Saturday in San Francisco.

The conference-leading Broncos (8-1, 16-4) used a 10-point run to take a 53-40 lead early in the second half and led by at least 10 points the rest of the way.

Drew Zurek added 13 points and Marlon Garnett 12 for Santa Clara. Gerald Walker led USF (2-6, 8-14) with 20 points.
