Justin Powell’s 15 points led four players in double figures Friday as Gonzaga Prep (6-1) edged host West Valley 63-60 in the championship game of the Eagles’ holiday tournament.

Joe McFarland added 12 points and six rebounds for the Bullpups, who took charge in the middle quarters and held off a rally by WV (7-1).

Tyronne Still scored 37 and led a 56-34 rebounding edge with 16 boards as the Class AA Raiders rallied to beat the Class A Cougars (5-1) in a semifinal.

Still, who made four 3-pointers and 13 of 16 free throws, scored nine consecutive points in the third quarter to forge a 45-42 lead. When Chewelah pulled within 64-62 in the fourth quarter, Still scored seven straight for a 73-65 lead.

Chewelah’s Jeremy Landram scored 22, made 12 of 17 free throws and had a school-record 15 assists.
