Lewis-Clark State Dumps Boise State By 14 On The Road

Senior guard James Long scored 20 points and junior forward Jeremiah Wynott added 15 to lead Lewis-Clark State College to a 67-53 nonconference basketball victory over host Boise State Saturday night.
Lewis Clark (8-5) took an early 9-2 lead with 14:50 left in the first half, but Boise State (2-6) held a 24-23 halftime lead.
The Warriors opened a 42-28 lead with 11:32 left in the game on two 3-point field goals by Long and one by reserve guard Mike Neves. Boise State junior guard Joe Wyatt was the only Bronco in double figures, scoring 16 points.
S. Utah 72, Idaho St. 49
Jon Gaines scored 25 points as Southern Utah (5-4) broke away from visiting Idaho State (3-4) in the second half to post a victory.
Gaines finished hitting 8 of 13 from the floor, including six 3-pointers, for the Thunderbirds.

UCLA’s Jim Harrick became the Bruins’ second-winningest coach in school history behind John Wooden as the defending national champions (6-3) made a bid to re-enter the national rankings with a victory over host UNLV (1-5).
Nevada 83, San Diego 66
Brian Green scored 29 points and Daniel Watts added a career-tying 24 as visiting Nevada (6-3) defeated San Diego (4-4). Green made just 8 of 18 field-goal attempts, but hit 12 of 17 free throws.
Pepperdine 80, San Jose St. 76
Gerald Brown scored a career-high 35 points and Marques Johnson converted a four-point play in the final minute as Pepperdine (6-3) defeated host San Jose State (1-6).
