NEW FACES:

Pamela Chalpin has joined McDirmid, Mikkelsen & Secrest P.S., a certified public accounting firm, as administrator. Chalpin has 15 years of experience in finance and human resources and previously was finance administrator for a San Diego law firm.

Catherine Parochetti has joined Kootenai Electric Cooperative as a communications specialist. Parochetti is responsible for all formal communications, press relations, advertising, printed materials and is the official spokesperson for the co-op. She earlier was executive director for Spokane Community Mobilization and Kootenai County Substance Abuse Council.

Sherry Cheever has joined The Prudential Crane Realty as a commercial sales associate. Cheever, who previously was associated with ERA Borge/LeDoux in Vancouver, Wash., specializes in working with international investors.

Zak Designs Inc. has hired three new employees:

Evan Mages, international export sales coordinator, will be responsible for preparing export documentation, promoting sales and coordinating product shipments to distributors overseas. She previously was a sales coordinator with Columbia Lighting.

Maile Johnson joined Zak as executive assistant to the executive vice president of the international division. Johnson’s duties include handling direct import and export price quotations and coordinating special projects, including purchase order planning. She previously worked for R.W. Robideaux as special events coordinator for River Park Square.

Marcella Bennett, accounts receivable coordinator, will set up and verify payment arrangements, collect on past due accounts and conduct research on disputed accounts. Bennett previously was a special assets loan recovery officer for U.S. Bank of Washington.

Aaron Powell has been appointed regional administrator for the division of child support at the state Department of Social and Health Services. Powell will manage 176 child support personnel who administer the state support enforcement program in DSHS Region 1, which includes Spokane and 12 other Eastern Washington counties.

Robert Yuditsky has joined the Coeur d’Alene office of D.A. Davidson & Co. as an investment executive. Prior to joining Davidson, Yuditsky managed and owned a variety of businesses.

James McClintock, Sheila Stevenson, and Mike McNamara have joined the Coeur d’Alene offices of Century 21 Town and Country Realty Inc., as associates. Cynean Johnson, Don Cooper and Kimberly Krost have joined the Post Falls office.

The Spokane County Medical Society has accepted the following physicians for membership:

Dr. Janette Andrews has joined WomanHealth in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology. Andrews is a graduate of the University of Southern California and completed an internship and residency at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Kamaljit Floura has joined Spokane Community Mental Health in the practice of psychiatry. Floura is a graduate of the University of Calcutta and completed an internship at Detroit Macomb Hospital and a residency at Norwich Hospital.

Dr. Patricia McGuire joins Family Medicine Spokane as a family practice specialist. McGuire is a graduate of Oregon Health Sciences Center who completed her residency at Family Medicine Spokane.

Dr. Daniel Seely joins Spokane, Ear, Nose and Throat in the practice of otolaryngology. Seely is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine. He completed an internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center and a residency and fellowship at the University of Washington.

Dr. Elizabeth Vennos has joined Spokane Dermatology Clinic in the practice of dermatology. Vennos graduated from Georgetown University and completed an internship and residency at Washington Hospital Center and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Edward Wright joins Valley Dermatology Clinic in the practice of dermatology. Wright is a University of Colorado graduate who completed an internship and residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center, and a fellowship at the University of Utah.

Theodore Crumley, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Boise Cascade Corp., has been elected to the board of directors of Hecla Mining Co. Crumley also serves as a director of Boise Cascade Office Products Corp.; president of the Idaho Sate University Foundation, director and treasurer of the Boise Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of the chamber’s executive committee; and a member of the Boise Public Schools Education Foundation.

MOVING UP:

Anne M. Tucker was elected president of WenDt Advertising’s Spokane office. Tucker, who joined the agency in 1976 in Great Falls, Mont., has served as traffic coordinator, media buyer, copywriter and account manager. She was named manager of WenDt’s Spokane operation in 1985 and became a director of the firm in 1987.

Thomas Chase has been promoted to general manager of Tri-City Auto Auction, Pasco. Chase will oversee daily operations of the auction. Prior to his promotion, Chase served as regional sales director in the southeast, fleet/ lease manager of ADT Automotive’s West Palm Beach Auto Auction and fleet/lease manager for the company’s Pudget Sound Auto Auction.

EXPANDING:

Richard Dalke of DeerHawK Enterprises has completed training to be an auctioneer at Continental Auction School and is now licensed and bonded to perform auctioneer services in the state of Washington. Dalke will specialize in estate, business, farm and benefit auctions and will add those services to his counseling and consulting business.

MOVING ON:

Robert Shugert has retired after a 32-year career with Junior Achievement. He began his career in the Seattle area and in 1966 was named chief staff officer of Junior Achievement of the Inland Northwest Inc. During his tenure, student participation in the program grew from 300 to more than 3,000.

MOVING:

Century West Engineering Corp. has relocated to 1825 N. Hutchinson. Established in 1979, Spokane-based Century employs more than 140 people at offices throughout the Northwest.

TRANSACTIONS:

Bartleson & Richie has merged with the certified public accounting firm of Schoedel & Schoedel. Deidre Roberts, owner of Bartleson & Ritchie, and accountant Lori Pierson have joined Schoedel & Schoedel in the U.S. Bank Building, 422 W. Riverside.

Dr. Bill Molsberry, formerly located at 818 E. Sharp, has purchased the dental practice of Dr. Thomas Puhek, who relocated to Las Vegas. Molsberry will combine the two practices and will be located at the NorthTown Office Building, 4407 N. Division, suite 416.

Solon, Ohio-based Keithley Instruments Inc. has purchased the principal assets of International Sensor Technology Inc. of Pullman. Keithley plans to fulfill contracts currently in place between IST and the U.S. Navy and will further commercialize IST’s technology over the next few years.

Blue Mountain Agri-Support, Lewiston, has become an authorized AGCOSTAR dealership. Blue Mountain will provide sales and service support for articulated, four wheel-drive AGCOSTAR tractors.

ELECTED:

Tim White of ALSC has been elected to the board of directors of the American Institute of Architects, Washington Council, as secretary-treasurer. Dave Franklund, principal with KDF Architecture in Yakima, was elected president-elect.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Sue Kelly has successfully completed the requirements for certification by the National Certification Corp. as an inpatient obstetric nurse. Kelly works in the Family Maternity Center of Holy Family Hospital as a charge, baby and obstetrical nurse.

KUDOS:

The Oracle Corp. has donated software valued at $445,650 to Gonzaga University. The software will be used to support a program in the university’s department of mathematics and computer science.

CompuTech has been honored by Point for being in the top 5 percent of all Web sites on the Internet. The sites chosen were Kites N’Things, which offers a variety of kites and accessories for the kite flying enthusiast, and ABCD All the Best CD’s, an online music store where customers can search for and order new and used CD’s using custom applications developed by CompuTech.
