The crew from the planer building pose for a photo outside a building at McGoldrick Lumber Co. in 1923. The sawmill operated successfully in Spokane for 41 years before a fire on August 9, 1945 devastated the business.

Underground sprinkler system on Mulligan field at Gonzaga University starts operating in 1954. The field was set to be used for softball and baseball games and reserve officers training corp drill. At right is new cafeteria. Thirty-six rotary sprinklers with heads recessed into the ground to prevent injury to the players have been installed.

The first walls of the new Gonzaga Arena rise from the construction site in 2003. The old baseball field has been demolished and the new arena is going in just east of the old facility.
