Your Outdoor Photos: August 2024

The Inland Northwest is full of flora, fauna, waters, scenery and active people out to savor it all. Please visit this gallery regularly to share photos of your wild experiences, learning moments, hot discoveries, favorite trips. Help us build a visual tour of what's so great about the outdoors in this region through all four seasons. This photo gallery will be an inspiration to some people. To others it will be a reminder of why we love to live here – and get outside as much as possible.

  • Mike, I wish to thank you for the number of times you have published my images. Will you folks continue ahead with your idea of interviewing some of us photographers? Just curious. Attached is a Red Crossbill. Image captured across from the Turnbull Admin Bldg this week. It's crossbill is used for rearing into pine cones a staple of it's diet.

  • Found this bull on Turnbull wildlife refuge on 9 4 2024 he is the largest bull I have seen so far this year out there.

  • While walking along the Centennial Trail the 3rd week of August I came upon this mother Osprey keeping a watchful eye and encouraging her babies to try their wings from the nest to the branches.

  • A Great Blue Heron after being chased off his fishing perch along Hood Canal in western Washington. This is a good time of year to capture Herons flying as they chase each other off of favorite fishing spots. Aerial combat is also a possibility. Taken 20 August 2024.

  • Taken out north of town off of Hwy 395, the sunflower fields are a bloom, I have planned on riding out to get some great background shots with my '75 Shovelhead Harley and finally did so Saturday. Remember to stay out of the fields if you go, please have respect for other's property
