Heels for HEALing Stiletto Sprint

Some 55 men, women and children spend Sunday afternoon, August 18, 2013, dashing one half block on First Avenue in Spokane, Wash., to raise money benefiting the Women's Healing and Empowerment Network. Their resources help survivors of domestic violence. The adults wore high heels or stilettos while the children competed in sneakers.

Some 55 competitors participated in the benefit event with proceeds going to the The Women’s Healing and Empowerment Network. W.H.E.’s resources help survivors of domestic violence. Events for the day also included a costume contest, parade of shoes for auction, marshmallow stomping, and street dancing.
