Hydroplane boat races on Lake Coeur d'Alene

Hydroplane boat races were popular in Coeur d’Alene, and around Washington, throughout the ’50s and into the ’60s. This summer marks the return to racing 44 years after the popular sport ended. Hydro races are planned southeast of downtown as part of the Diamond Cup Regatta during Labor Day weekend.
