Papa's Holiday Lights - next to the Flying J

We take decorating for the holidays seriously, and we have taken Christmas light decorating to the next level. It has become a yearlong process of planning, preparation, installation and then displaying. It’s now one of the premier Christmas light shows in all of North Idaho and Eastern Washington. Last Christmas, more than 10,000 vehicles full of guests enjoyed the light show during the holiday season. They even came by the busload! Folks have come from as far away as Montana just to enjoy the show. Our most distant guest came from the Philippines after having viewed it on his satellite TV. Every year, we improve our already impressive holiday light display by increasing its size, changing the layout, adding more lights, more songs, new props and new features. It has grown to more than 1 acre and nearly 90.000 lights. We use the latest in Christmas light technology and computer programming to create our animated light show, and it is all synchronized to holiday music. You’ve never seen anything quite like it. All of the lights continuously change colors, intensity and brightness while at the same time dancing in sync to the music. It’s guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit. We invite everyone, children and adults alike, to come and enjoy the free show. Bring your loved ones along and create memories that will last a lifetime. In the past, the show has made such an impression that folks come back over and over again during the five-week holiday season with more family members and friends to share a time of enjoyment. You have the option of viewing the lights from the comfort of your vehicle while listening to the music on your vehicle’s radio (106.9 FM) , or you can leisurely walk through the display by passing through a lighted tunnel of almost 80 arches, some of which are 20 feet tall (please wear a mask and adhere to COVID-19 protection guidelines). Everyone’s favorite attractions include our fire engine and “MEGA TREE,” with nearly 8,000 Christmas lights on each one. The show content changes almost daily, with new songs added throughout this magical season. We had a fantastic Halloween light show, but now it’s Christmastime! The Christmas light show runs from Thanksgiving through the first week of January from dusk until 10 p.m. weekdays and 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. It’s entirely free for everyone, but we encourage those of you that can to bring nonperishable food items collected by a local food bank. This year, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be here for a few hours each Friday and Saturday. Take your family’s photos with Santa in his big North Idaho log chair or on his sleigh (minimum suggested donation for Santa is $5). We’ve been featured in the Coeur d’Alene Press, The Spokesman-Review and KXLY TV. The display is located in Post Falls on the property of the Suntree RV Park at 350 N. Idahline Road. We are situated right next to the Flying J truck plaza. Take I-90 to Exit #2 (Pleasant View Road). Turn one block north to Fifth Avenue, then one block east to Idahline Road, or just look for the lights. For more information, contact Papa’s Holiday Lights on our Facebook Page, email mike@suntreervpark.com or call (208) 818-0624. Merry Christmas, and God bless you!
