McKabe Cottrell spun a gem to keep Freeman's season alive in a 4-1 win over Zillah Saturday in the State 1A Tournament at Moses Lake. Cottrell worked seven innings without conceding an earned run. He struck out 13. Ian Johnston led the Scotties' offense by going 2 for 3 with a solo home run in the fourth, and Desmond Parisotto was also 2 for 3. Freeman advanced to play Connell later on Saturday.
