Rylee McConnell's goal, off a corner kick from Jenna Sullens, was all West Valley needed in defeating East Valley at Gonzaga Prep in the first round of the State 2A girl's soccer tournament. Goalkeeper Rachel McGlothlen kept East Valley in check with five saves. West Valley will face Ephrata in a quarterfinal match, time to be determined.

After falling behind 1-0 at the half, East Valley's Micaela Verdal recorded a hat trick in the second half to lead the Knights over host West Valley 3-1 to claim the District 7 2A Championship. East Valley will host either East Valley (Yakima) or Selah on Saturday in the first round of regionals. West Valley will travel to Ellensburg on Saturday for their first match of regionals.
