What happened: Colin Hughes caught four touchdown passes with 223 receiving yards, Smokey Abrahamson threw four touchdown passes and Wellpinit (9-1) beat the visiting Pirates (8-2) in a 1B state first round game on Saturday. Trevin Kimble rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns for Pomeroy. The win was Wellpinit's first in a state football tournament, according to WIAA records. Wellpinit advances to play Neah Bay at Forks High School in the quarterfinals.

What happened: Smokey Abrahamson threw for 229 yards and three touchdown passes, Andrew Moyer rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns and Wellpinit (8-1) beat the visiting Tigers (6-4) in a District 6/7 1B crossover game on Saturday. Landon Crutcher threw for two touchdown passes and rushed for another for Entiat.
