Walla Walla scored 3 runs in the 5th inning after falling behind 0-1 in the 1st and defeated Gonzaga Prep 3-2 in the 4A playoffs on Saturday. Gonzaga Prep scored again in the 6th inning to fall short and couldn't get runs on the board even though they out hit Walla Walla 7-6 on the night.

What happened: Mitch Lesmeister reached base five times and scored two runs as Walla Walla defeated visiting Mead 11-4 Thursday in a 4A subregional game. Turner Edwards added a pair of hits for the Blue Devils, who also took advantage of 13 walks by Panther pitchers. Mead will next play at Central Valley on Saturday.
