Kirsten Anstrom had three hits and scored twice to help University beat Mead 10-1 for the Greater Spokane League title on Friday. Kylee Hughes went 3 for 3 with a homer for U-Hi, which finished its season undefeated at 22-0, 21-0 in the GSL. Mead (17-6, 15-6) was led by Ashley Hammond and Destiny Scott with three hits apiece.

Natasha Nelson nailed two home runs for University in their 15-1 victory over Mt. Spokane in the GSL slowpitch softball semifinals. Makayla Marshall earned three hits for University, as well as a double, while teammate Hannah Click pitched and only gave up five hits and one run through five innings. With this win, University advances to the slowpitch softball championship against Mead on October 26 at 3:30 p.m.
