With runners on first and second and no outs in the bottom of the seventh, Jerrett Plunkett's well-executed sacrifice bunt was thrown away for an error as Timberlake pulled out a 3-2 win over Snake River in a State 3A baseball tournament opener Thursday at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.

Ty George hit a two-run single in the fourth inning to help Timberlake get past Bonners Ferry 3-1 to win the 3A District 1 championship. Timberlake advances to the 3A state tournament, with the first game on May 14th at 3pm. Bonners Ferry will host Kellogg Thursday at 4pm in a loser-out game, with the winner advancing to a state play-in game at Grangeville.
