A 27-12 halftime deficit doomed East Valley, which fell to Shorecrest 58-41 in the semifinals of the 2A state girls basketball tournament on Friday in the Yakima Valley SunDome. Uju Chibuoughu and Wurrie Njadoe led Shorecrest with 15 apiece, while Julia Strand chipped in 14. Chibuoughu also chipped in 11 rebounds.
