What happened: Madi Keon went 3 for 3 with a grand slam, double and six RBIs and the sixth-seeded Highlanders (14-8) beat the fourth-seeded Blue Devils (17-10) in the State 3A/2A third-place game at Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima. Already leading 4-2 in the second inning. Keon launched the slam and Shadle cruised to the victory to give the GSL a 1-2-3 sweep at state. Abby Smith went 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs out of the leadoff spot for Shadle.

What happened: Madi Keon went 5 for 5 with a home run, four runs and three RBIs and the sixth-seeded Highlanders (13-7) rallied for 10 runs in the seventh to upend the third-seeded Rapids (15-4) in a State 3A/2A first-round game at Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima. Abby Smith went 3 for 5 and hit a grand slam in the 10th-inning rally for Shadle, which advanced to a semifinal against second-seeded University at 4 p.m.
