What happened: Zola Stephens and Ellie Travalia had two hits apiece and the visiting sixth-seeded Cougars (17-5) beat the third-seeded Rams (16-7) in a 1A state quarterfinal on Friday at the Columbia Playfields in Richland. Alison Lapano went 2 for 4 with a run, a stolen base and an RBI for the Rams.
