For a second straight year, the Lakeland Hawks captured the 4A Region I boys basketball tournament championship. Lakeland got out to a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter and held off Sandpoint 43-34 at North Idaho College on Wednesday. Lakeland advances to state, March 3-5 at Borah High School in Boise. Sandpoint beat Moscow 57-31 in a 4A Region I loser-out tournament game at North Idaho College on Monday night. The Bulldogs play Lakeland in a winner-to-state game Wednesday night at NIC.
